Rainflower Company’s Fabulous Free Fleurs Contest just got better! How? Well, we’ve teamed up with Maria Ferragine from In Style Wedding Planners and DOUBLED the prize value to include $1000 value of Fabulous Free Fleurs and complimentary Day Of Co-Ordination valued at $1000. You better not waste any time to enter because there is less than 72 hours left! Contest closes January 30th, 2009.
Maria Ferragine, owner and lead co-ordinator of In Style Wedding Planners obtained her Hon.B.A. from the University of Toronto followed by her WPIC Certification from the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. Constantly involving herself in seminars, educational programs and workshops, Maria offers exceptional and well-rounded service and experience to her clients. She is always looking to be in the ‘know’ of trends and up and coming ideas.
Here is a bit more about what Day Of Co-Ordination includes directly from Maria’s site.
This service is for the couple who plans and prepares their own wedding but chooses to have a wedding co-ordinator on hand for the entire wedding day to ensure that everything goes as planned. So many couples complain that they didn’t enjoy their wedding day because they were too busy making sure the photographer was capturing the right memories, and that the caterer was on time, to name a few of many potential areas of stress and concern for the newly-wed couple. With wedding day co-ordination, our couples can rest assured that their day will go as planned and that if for some reason something goes wrong, there is an experienced professional who can assess, modify and correct the problem. The fee for wedding day co-ordination is generally $800 - $1,200.
What do you have to do to win? Just tell us why you would be the best suited bride for this great giveaway in 150 words or less of course . . .Oh, and please include a picture of the happy couple! If you or someone you know is getting married in Toronto or the GTA between the months of March and December 2009, you are eligible to win. Please fill out the following form with all required information to enter. But hurry! Contest closes January 30th, 2009, and the winner will be announced February 2nd, 2009.
Good luck to all participants. We can’t wait to see your submissions! To check out Instyle Wedding Planners click here.

Fresh
We’ve been extremely busy of late @ RFC, planning, and meeting with wonderful clients, putting all the final little details together for the upcoming wedding season. It’s extremely cold out and won’t stop snowing so we thought a great way to take our minds off of this depressing weather would be to show you some fresh eye candy… Here are some of the latest arrangements we’ve made for clients and future clients. Is it Spring yet?

Tulips
FRENCH TULIPS
French Tulips are usually about 8 inches longer than the standard tulip. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite flowers to work with as I find they are perfect in their simple, statuesque nature. Tulips continue to grow under water and you will need to keep that in mind. I love that they come in a wide array of spectacular colors, including shades of red, orange, yellow, white and pink.
PARROT TULIPS
Parrot Tulips have frilly, feathery and fluffy fringed edges. They are saturated multi-coloured “moving” flowers that stretch and turn towards the light. That is what adds to their charm. Light and flowy with a punch of intense style. You can’t miss it in a mixed flower bouquet or centerpiece but quite honestly, they also look gorgeous all on their own.

Cheap Thrills - Part 2
I don’t think much needs to be said for our 2nd contender for our budget wise brides. Simplicity really is key here, and I love how simple and chic baby’s breath is just all by itself. Not a trace of a rose or a carnation anywhere.
You can use it to create sweet bouquets, or centerpieces with some real impact . Remember, it’s not the cost of the wedding that your guests will focus on. So if you are on a limited budget, here is a perfect flower for you to use and really have some fun with. We know it’s not a usual suspect, but that’s what we like most about it.
Everything that Rainflower Company does always has the stamp of originality on it, no matter what flower you choose. Talk to us about how to make your wedding Chic and Simple.

Cheap Thrills
Lets face it, If money wasn’t an issue everyone would have their venues filled with callas, roses and orchids. But, unfortunately, this isn’t the case for most brides. There is one word that can ruin your plans to be walking on a bed of rose petals on your special day and that word is…Budget. The “B” Word that everyone hates to say, but must try to follow to some degree. Well, here are some ideas to keep your “budget” in check while exploring some options you may not have considered before.
CARNATIONS
(Dianthus caryophyllus)
They are available year round in a multitude of gorgeous colours, have a slightly aromatic scent, last forever, and of course are the epitome of chic and cheap when done “en masse”. Forget the baby’s breath and the skimpy presentations of the past. They need to be full, lush and grouped together tightly to make an impact. Yes, when done right, they can be the perfect alternative to the more pricier blooms that everyone is lusting over and can’t afford… Forget the bad rap that preceded them, carnations are cool again.
