Winter Wedding At The Old Mill

I love winter weddings, and Nina & Igor’s wedding at The Old Mill this past November did not disappoint.  Nina’s classic bouquet consisted of  ivory calla lillies, and Igor’s boutonniere was made up of 2 mini calla lillies, with a thin gold wire detail.   The bridesmaid’s bouquets consisted of ivory vendella roses, freesia and seeded eucalyptus.  All of the bouquets had a custom pearl brooch that we applied to the champagne satin ribbon wrapped stems.   Every detail from the pew decor to the ceremony pieces were reused at the reception.  We even did their guest favors which were lucky bamboo in a square vase.  Nina & Igor are also extremely talented photographers.  You can read Nina & Igor’s lovely testimonial here.  Congratulations to the both of you, and I am so extremely honored to have been a part of this absolutely perfect day!

Fav Weddings of ‘09 - part deux

Andrea and Noam were married at the picturesque Auberge du Pommier… An absolutely gorgeous venue, and I’m sure the food was just as spectacular as the views!  The details were simple and just right for the space.  I love the freshness of the green and white and the intense black accents.  The creative shots were taken by Fast Focus Productions.

OOOh how I love Orchids

Anna has style, and right off the bat I was excited to work on her wedding flowers.  Orchids, Orchids and more orchids played a huge part in creating the elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.  Her bouquet was a mix of soft pink and green cymbidium orchids, and the stems were wrapped with some ribbon from her gorgeous dress.

The Centrepieces were simple but stunning tall slender vases filled with green dendrobium orchids and curly willow with a submerged floralyte to add some extra ambiance once the lights were dimmed.  Each vase had a delicate organza gold ribbon tied around it to tie in the chair covers.

The head table was dressed with submerged orchids and floating candles to create a candlescape of varying heights, combined with plenty of votives all worked together to create that warm glow which looked really beautiful.   We rented out the vases for the head table to help keep costs down, while maximizing the impact.  Again, we tied in the gold ribbon to keep everything in the colour scheme uniform.

Ashley & Mike

HRM Photography couldn’t have captured this day any better for Ashley & Mike.  Even though it poured like mad, they were determined to get married outside, at the Kortright Centre (Which is breathtakingly beautiful for those of you looking for an outdoor venue for your ceremony.  I remember when we were setting up the flowers  attached to the chairs outside, we had to tip the chairs to remove the huge puddles of water that were sitting on them.  Everyone had their umbrellas ready and their wedding turned out great… and they got amazing pictures to remember it forever!

Ashley’s bouquet consisted of purple lisianthus, mini green hydrangea, white freesia and sweet little white daisies.  We finished it off with a few green monkey grass loops and a simple white satin ribbon.

Love this…

I was doing some research for a lil’ project I’m working on (more details about that a bit later) and literally stumbled upon this…. Just thought I’d share… Would you personalize your invitations like this?  I think it’s super sweet and honestly makes me wish I was a guest attending this wedding!  What do you think?

Feelin’ Fall

Amanda and I just clicked when we met… I knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding… Something very subtle, but still packed with flavor… Since her and her fiance Miguel were getting married at the Sutton Place Hotel, with the gorgeous skyline as the backdrop, we had to come up with something that was not going to take away from the gorgeous views.  So, we came up with a delicate main centrepiece which was a take on the submerged orchids look, but our version didn’t have water.  The dendrobium orchids were directly attached to chocolatey brown curly willow, sitting on shimmery brown stones inside the vase, with just a few delicate strands poking out of the top.  On either side of this, were 2 monogrammed and ribbon wrapped vases with pillar candles, also sitting on the gorgeous brown stones.  There was even a teeny, tiny shiny crystal on the monogram for each of the candle pieces.  It was just sooo pretty!  The ceremony pieces were lush and full of texture sitting on glass urns that had the same cinnamon colour ribbon wrapped around the neck.  Such show stoppers!  Amanda’s bouquet was a mix of calla lilies and stefanotis with little crystals in the centres, and the girls had Tiramisu spray roses with thin gold wire delicately wrapped overtop.  Here are some of the pictures, but I can only imagine how spectacular everything must have looked when all the candles were lit…  Congratulations Amanda & Miguel!  It was really a lot of fun  creating  your vision and seeing it all come together for you!  All my Best!

Celebrate Good Times… our 1 Year Anniversary & our new digs!

It’s hard to believe that 1 year has already gone by since Rainflower Company has planted it’s roots!  Our Grand Opening Party was 1 Year ago, on Sept. 19th, 2008, and we did a fantastic wedding at One Up Restaurant Down Town Toronto on our 1 Year anniversary date!  Such pretty little details, which really is what Rainflower Company is all about… Special personal little touches that incorporate your style… that’s what sets your wedding apart from all the rest!  Well, we now have a new studio to be able to show you our creative little ideas.  It’s been a great first year, lots of hard work, sweat and tears but it’s all been worth it to create this little company that is growing  every day!  We’re busy painting, cleaning and prepping our sweet little pad, and as soon as she’s all shined up and ready to go, we’ll show you some pictures and of course,  crack open the bubbly.  Until then, here are some pictures we should have posted a long time ago, as well as the wedding we did  on 1 Year Anniversary date.  Cheers!

This is a picture of the centrepiece doubling up as the wedding favours as well.  Each little vintage bud vase has flowers in it and a special little thank you card attached that tied in the overall wedding theme.  At the end of the night each guest could take one of the bud vases and have a special memory of the couple’s big day.  A great way to stretch the budget and a nice little creative idea to try something a bit different than the traditional centrepieces.

RFC featured on SMP

In July we did a gorgeous wedding for Liz and Derrick at Miller Lash House.  The setting was absolutely picturesque as the wedding took place in the tent over looking the lush green gardens. We wanted to capture the miami chic vibe  and we did that through the floral elements of branches, crystals and orchids- (and lots of them.)  The cool crisp colour scheme consisted of  white, magenta and beachy turquoise which was absolutely stunning together.  It was a super hot day and I’m sure their guests had a super hot time!  You can read more about it on Style Me Pretty- Which we are absolutely thrilled and honoured to be a part of.  Here are some pictures from the fabulously talented HRM Photography.

Recent Work- Kultura Wedding

Last weekend we did a wedding at Kultura restaurant, at King & Jarvis downtown, Toronto.  They had an intimate affair of 45 guests, and we transformed the second floor of this chic, modern venue using hot pink dendrobium orchids in the tall centrepieces and submerged throughout the candlescapes we created.  It’s a really cool spot for a small, non traditional wedding.  We also did the personal flowers, ceremony flowers, & pew decor.  Originally, this bride was to get married in Mexico, but with the whole swine flu outbreak, they decided to do the wedding in Toronto, but just bring in some tropical flair.  We brought the destination here, and everyone had a fantastic time!  It turned out really pretty and the bride was thrilled!  More pics will be posted soon!

Rosane & Jonald

Melinda Roopa of Fairytale Events contacted me on Tuesday of last week to see if we would be able to assist her clients, Rosane & Jonald for their wedding that Saturday, June 6th, 2009.  Unfortunately, they had a falling out with their florist and desperately needed our help!  We came up with two versions of the low centrepiece because they couldn’t decide, and a few little extra nice touches to make their wedding day as special and beautiful as they had always envisioned it to be.
Here are a few pics that we took, but we’ll post more as soon as we get them from the photographer.  I keep forgetting to take those pics!  Can someone please remind me?!?!!   Roseane and Jonald, we are thrilled that we were able to step in to create the floral ambiance to make your wedding day complete!  We wish you all the best and hope you had the perfect day you’ve always dreamed of!
