My bride Katie was one of the loveliest people you will ever meet.  She was so super excited to marry her beau, Paul and have all of her friends and family share in their special day that she had a total of 14 bridesmaids! I don’t even think they all fit in this picture.  It was such a nice way of including all of the people that meant so much to her throughout her life, and it makes for great pictures!  The venue was Deer Creek Golf Course, in Ajax Ontario, which was really beautiful, both inside and out.  The flowers were stunning as we mixed circus which are yellow with an orange trim and freedom red roses together with bright satin red ribbon to match the sashes on their dresses.  We had a romantic candlescape on their head table, lined with red rose petals and created a cascading cake topper of freedom red roses and Paul’s aunt lovingly made them their cake.  The centrepieces were created with hydrangea, hanging amaranthus, red and circus roses and green kermit poms sitting inside a martini vase filled with crystals.  It was really pretty and exactly what the bride wanted.  Here are just a few casual pics, as I hope to get some professional ones soon to share.  It was such an honour to be a part of their day, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness together!

I love winter weddings, and Nina & Igor’s wedding at The Old Mill this past November did not disappoint.  Nina’s classic bouquet consisted of  ivory calla lillies, and Igor’s boutonniere was made up of 2 mini calla lillies, with a thin gold wire detail.   The bridesmaid’s bouquets consisted of ivory vendella roses, freesia and seeded eucalyptus.  All of the bouquets had a custom pearl brooch that we applied to the champagne satin ribbon wrapped stems.   Every detail from the pew decor to the ceremony pieces were reused at the reception.  We even did their guest favors which were lucky bamboo in a square vase.  Nina & Igor are also extremely talented photographers.  You can read Nina & Igor’s lovely testimonial here.  Congratulations to the both of you, and I am so extremely honored to have been a part of this absolutely perfect day!

I think most brides really struggle with choosing centrepieces as they are usually the biggest chunk of the budget depending on number of tables, but also in deciding to go with low or tall centrepieces?  I love mixing tables with both low and tall arrangements as it creates dimension in the room, and makes everyone happy by not having to settle if you truly can’t decide.  I’m going to share a few centrepieces that we have done in the past to spark some creativity, and hopefully help you out with making that all time tough decision of which centrepiece idea to choose.

Purple was hot in 2009, and it continues to be a fav for 2010 as well.  These bouquets have a shot of the hot colour infused with some lavender tones, pinks, whites & silver ribbon.

Here are some inspiration pictures of bouquets from past weddings this year.  I’ve been meaning to post them forever…  They’re not in any particular order,  but it’s so nice to be able to see them all grouped together as they are definitely one of my favorite wedding details to create.  Unfortunately, too many were delivered to our lovely brides without snapping a picture!  Grrr… Sometimes getting professional ones take a bit longer to receive.  So as new ones come in, we’ll post them for sure.  We’re seeing  plenty of pink bouquets for this upcoming season, and lots of colour which I’m a huge fan of!
