Upcoming Weddings- Lisa & Ramil

Lisa & Ramil are getting married at The Royalton  in Vaughn, and originally when I met Lisa we were only going to do ceremony & personal flowers.  We ended up collaborating on a concept for the centrepiece that will keep both Lisa and Ramil happy!  I will post pictures after the wedding and tell you all about our happy medium solution. *wink*
The dressses are a gorgeous champagne colour and the flowers we’re going to be using are a mix of pink roses, freesia and lisianthus.  Lisa’s bouquet will be made with two toned pink and ivory malibu roses, with pink mini calla lilies and white freesia.  Freesia is one of my favourite little accent flowers.  It smells heavenly, and the buds add touch of  green without being too much.  Lisa & Ramil are super sweet, and have been a lot of fun to work with so far! Can’t wait to see everything come together for the both of you! ;)

Upcoming Weddings:- Theresa & Kresimir

Theresa & Kresimir are getting married at the amazing Liberty Grand, in the Renaissance Room.  Theresa’s style is a totally relaxed version of Martha Stewart, and I loved all her ideas.  I think they are the most laid back couple ever!  We’re going to be using the “toss” bouquet as the cake topper! LOVE THAT IDEA!!!  It’s too cute and her colours are going to pop!  The dresses are a gorgeous blue colour and the flowers will have a summery vintage feel using corals, buttery yellow and baby blue.  Love this colour scheme and super excited to work on this wedding!  Here are some pictures from our inspirational meeting that we came up with to make their vision come alive!  Thank you again Theresa & Kresimir for choosing to work with RFC for your wedding!  It’s going to be fabulous!

Upcoming Wedding:- Alison & Matt

Alison and I used to work together in my pre-fleur days.  She is a fun loving, free-spirit that loves nature and the outdoors.  Both Alison & Matt were pretty sure about one detail that they wanted to include in their woodland themed wedding.  Reindeer.  The centrepieces are their own inspiration, using moss, pinecones and reindeer in a terranium.  We’ve entertained the option of doing birch bark covered vases with a mix of natural elements, but the terranium proved to be more in keeping with their theme and personal style.  They are also doing a candy buffet and cupcakes as the wedding cake, adorned with sweet little reindeer.  We’re doing cute pinecone bouts, and the bouquets are lush and simple hydrangea in shades of purple and green.  I’m really looking forward to this wedding and putting all these details together for them.  They are both as cute as a button, and this is going to be one sweet wedding!

Upcoming Weddings:- Anna & Andrew

Fate definitely brought these two together… What a wonderful couple both Anna and Andrew are, and I’m having so much fun with the both of them.  Anna and Andrew’s colour scheme is blue, blue and more blue!  Anna wants her bouquet to be filled with anything blue, except roses… So, we’re using blue delphinium, deep purplish blue lisianthus, calla lilies, some gladiolas, mums, and snake grass loops.  A much more blue version of the centerpieces which will be done with white chrysanthemums, blue delphiniums, white lisianthus, blue hydrangea, and some blue filler type flowers.  Anna specifically requested the vase be filled with blue crystalized gel.  The flowergirl will be dropping lavender rose petals on the aisle for a summery romantic touch.  Here is their inspiration board for some more “blue” ideas.

Upcoming Weddings:- Melissa & Nick

Spring has sprung, especially when I think of Melissa & Nick’s wedding.  They are getting married at the end of the month, and have been absolutely wonderful to work with.  Melissa is so bubbly, and her personality shines through in her choice of using spring blooms such as yellow and purple tulips for the centerpieces.  Bouquets will be made of vibrant yellow calla lilies wrapped with snake grass loops for texture.  Melissa’s bouquet will be made with vendela roses and mini ivory calla lilies.  We’ll stud the rose heads with some bling of course, and wrap the handle ballet slipper style with some ivory organza ribbon.  We can’t forget Nick’s boutonniere which will be made with  2 mini calla lilies and wrapped with delicate gold wire loops and black ribbon.  Melissa and Nick are having a wishing tree as their guest book, and it will be done with curly willow, and draped in hanging crystals surrounded by little bud vases filled with purple and yellow tulips of course.  So fresh, and simple.  Here is their inspiration board to give you some visuals.  I love this one!!!

Upcoming Weddings:- Mirna & Monte

Mirna and Monte are a fun loving couple. They both wanted to create the “WOW” factor with a hit of “bling”.  The bridesmaid’s dresses are chocolate and coral and the colour combination is really stunning together!  Here is a preview to show you how we’re incorporating all the little details to play up the colour scheme, and theme for their wedding.  I love being able to showcase these ideas as they come together to give any future bride inspiration and tons of creative options.  Mirna and Monte, Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the planning of your wedding day, and I look foward to creating your vision for the both of you!

The Rain…

Many people ask me where did the name “Rainflower Company” come from… Well, I happen to be one of those people who love the Rain.  Without it, where would all the pretty flowers come from?  You know…It’s been said that it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day.  In Italy they say “sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata”.  I think the rain can be very romantic as these few images portray… So if it rains on your wedding day, don’t be sad… Just take a deep breath and enjoy the beautiful sounds and renewed energy the rain brings to all life.  It lets love bloom…

Emily and Jarrod

Emily and Jarrod are really sweet!  They actually had quite the story on how they ended up meeting.  When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be and these two are really meant for each other.  Emily had a vision of white dendrobium orchids, so I created the orchid spray arrangement for them and they came to see it displayed at the  Wedding Show.  They instantly fell in love! We’re doing a mix of short arrangments and tall, to create visual interest in the room as well as keep a handle on budget.  Their colour story is soft pinks, fuschias and whites… DREAMY!  I am soo excited for the both of you, and I can’t wait to see this all come together….

Upcoming Weddings:- Antonia & Ante

Ok… These two are an absolutely sweet couple, and soooo in love! Antonia currently lives in Cleveland but she is making the move here, to Canada after the wedding to join her lovely fiancé Ante. Their colour scheme for their wedding is tiffany blue, celadon green, and hits of black and white… Sooo pretty! As soon as I showed Antonia hanging amaranthus, she was in love!! We’re incorporating it in the centerpieces, and the bouquets as well!  It’s definitely going to add drama and impact to the overall look of the flowers.  I’m really looking forward to working together to make your day extra special! Speaking of special days… Happy Birthday Antonia! Have a wonderful birthday and I can’t wait to make this all come together for the both of you! Cheers!

And the winner is……

We are absolutely delighted to tell you that the amazing winner of our Fabulous Free Fleurs & Day of Co-ordination contest is…. Michael Athill and his lovely fiancé Cheryl.  Michael sent us a wonderful entry which was the last entry we received before the contest closed at midnight.  He actually sent it 7 minutes before it ended (7 is a very special number to Michael and Cheryl) His creativity and obvious love for his soon-to-be wife to enter the contest as a surprise for her was all we needed to select him as the winner.  We also want to extend our gratitude to all who took the time to enter.  It wasn’t easy to pick just one!  Stay tuned, I’m sure we’ll be doing another contest in the near future!  Here is what Michael had to say about winning his unbelievable prize of  Fabulous Fleurs from Rainflower Company  ($1000 value)  and Day of Co-Ordination from In Style Wedding Planners ($1000 value).  Congratulations again to the both of you!

 the-lucky-winners

At some point or another, we all sign up for contests of some sort in our never ending search of the elusive four letter word ‘FREE.’ Many of us reading these very words are most likely going through the ever daunting wedding crunch - save here, compromise there and forget about that much desired but even more so pricey accessory that would complete the grand plan. If you aren’t, I am. And believe you me, for Cheryl my fiancée and I the ‘crunch’ is not nearly as sweet as the chocolate bar with the same name sake.
This is where Frugalbride and contests come into play.  I completed the entry with the same nonchalant hope that we all do when we fill out contest forms. This one was different however; this one was personal. I had the opportunity to plead my worth of a prize rather than a random draw of numbers or a ticket stub. Without my fiancé knowing, I wrote ‘7 truths about Cheryl.’ A brief look into why 7 is such a significant number to us - past, present, and future.
When I found out that my entry was the winner, I was in shock. So much so that I replayed the message 4 times before I called Cheryl and told her I entered a contest online. She came to the conclusion that it was just like the contests at the wedding show - everybody gets a call. Regardless, I found that the voice on the message was genuine, unlike the others so I decided to call back. And I’m glad I did. I talked to Maria of In Style Wedding Planners and she informed me that this wasn’t a marketing ploy in any way. This was the real deal. Free “Day Of” Co-Ordination courtesy of In Style Wedding Planners and Free Fabulous Flowers courtesy of Rainflower Company. A total worth of $2000.
To say that Cheryl and I are happy is an understatement. Having the opportunity to work with In Style Wedding Planners and Rainflower Company is a huge boost to our wedding plans. Knowing that two reputable companies with great individuals and vivid creativity are going to be overseeing so many important aspects of our wedding is going to be such a privilege. We truly look forward to their involvement in our big day.
I know I will bring a smile to my bride-to-be’s face regardless, but this will make the big day that much more special for the both of us.
Again, thank you.
Michael and Cheryl
